This part of the Congo Nile Trail offers amazing views of Lake Kivu. You will continue with the walk up to Kimbiri. Here, you explore the surrounding villages around the trail.</span></p>

Chimpanzee trekking takes about 2 to 7 hours of the day including the one hour spent with chimps. After tracking the chimpanzees, you will engage in the canopy walk on a suspended bridge. This is a perfect spot for seeing many birds and primates. Later, you will transfer to a lodge for dinner and overnight.</span></p>

This town is near the Kahuzi Beige National Park. Upon arriving in the town, you will check into the lodge.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">On day 5 of the 20 days of Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo safaris, you will start with the morning breakfast and then you will proceed with the transfer to the <a href="https://www.nativeafricatours.com/5-days-kahuzi-biega-and-nyungwe-safari/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kahuzi Biega National Park.</a> The transfer will take about 45 minutes and upon arrival, you will start with the briefing about the lowland gorilla trekking. The activity will last for about 2 to 7 hours of the day upon where you will meet the gorillas. Then you have one hour to view the gorillas in their natural habitat.  Have lunch and then visit the waterfalls. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge in Bukavu.</span></p>

As you arrive back in Rwanda via the Cyangungu border, you will start with the check in the migration offices. Then you will take about 4 to 5 hours to reach Rubavu on Lake Kivu. You will arrive at lunchtime and then you will be left to enjoy the beach life on Lake Kivu.</span></p>

The visit to this community will engage you in the culture of Rwanda. You will encounter the former poachers of the park. While in the village, travelers will engage in cultural dances, local cuisine preparation, storytelling, and many others.</span></p>

It will take you to the forests of the volcanoes in search of these primates. The activity will last for about 2 to 5 hours of the day. Later on, you will go ahead with the transfer to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park through the Cyanika border in Kisoro. As you arrive at the border, you will check into the migration office. You will proceed with the transfer to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.</span></p>

You will start the hike and you will be accompanied by the ranger guide. The hike to this volcano is so challenging and it requires one to be fit enough. Then after the hike which will take about 8 hours of the day, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.</span></p>

The activity will last about 2 to 7 hours of the day.  Later on, you will visit the Batwa community for the Batwa cultural experience. <h4 style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Day 2: Gorilla trekking adventure</strong></h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Wake up very early in the morning, have breakfast, and set off to the park offices for briefing and cross-checking the trekking permits. While in the park, be able to spot some beautiful animals like giant forest hogs, and some primates like red-tailed and vervet monkeys. The adventure will take only 2-8 hours and an hour will be spent in the presence of mountain gorillas as you take photos, see how they handle their young ones, and how they react to people around them. When trekking is done, depart to your booked accommodation facility for relaxation and dinner.   </p>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Day 3: Hike to the peak of Nyiragongo Mountain</strong></h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">On the 3<sup>rd</sup> day of this tour, wake up in the morning before sunrise. Enjoy the cool temperatures of Virunga National Park, and enjoy breakfast. Proceed to the offices for check-in and start your hiking with a well-armed ranger. On your trek, meet some primates and watch beautiful birds as you continue to the top of Nyiragongo mountain.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">On top of the mountain, explore a boiling lava lake that erupted recently in May 2021. Take some photos and head to the campsite where you will have lunch and spend a night at the summit. You will need some important equipment like headlamps and sleeping tents.       </p>

<h4 style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Day 1: Your adventure begins with a comfortable hotel pick-up. You&#8217;ll then enjoy a Kigali city tour, taking in the sights and sounds of this vibrant city, before embarking on the drive to Congo.</strong></h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Pick up at the hotel and start the 3-Day tour with a Kigali city tour, which includes visiting essential sites within the city. Kigali is small in size, unlike other African cities. Today, you will visit the Kigali Memorial Center, local markets, and others. Alternatively, you may visit the Ntamatta Church. Here, you will see the remains of those who succumbed to the 1994 genocide. You will leave Kigali for <a href="https://www.nativeafricatours.com/destinations/congo/">Congo</a> through the Goma border and enjoy the scenic beauty of Rwanda and DR. Congo. Arrive early at the Goma border for clearing at the immigration offices and ensure your Congo Visa is in the system. You can obtain a Congo Visa either in advance from the embassy or on arrival at the border. Don&#8217;t forget to carry a yellow fever card and a valid passport.</p>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Day 2: Begin the hike to the top of Nyiragongo Volcano (3470 m)</strong></h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Have breakfast, and afterward, you will report to a briefing area for registration and get insight into some of the guidelines to follow. You can set off from Kibati with a porter helping you in carrying heavy luggage and a guide in the lead. The hike takes 4 to 5 hours, including navigating the forest around the lower slopes. Here, some small primates, flora, and birds will be spotted. As you head to the top, you will be amazed by the unique landscape. At 8:00 am, begin your special trek through Kahuzi-Biega National Park to search for the Grauer’s gorillas. The primate trek will take 2-5 hours and a special one hour. This is meant for you to watch closely the lowland gorillas in the wild and take pictures.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Start trekking back after great moments with the Eastern lowland gorillas. Relax at the lodge till later in the afternoon.  Then you will take a walk to visit Tshibati waterfalls or Mbayo tea estates and get back for dinner and a night&#8217;s sleep in your respective lodges/hotels.</p>
