You will start the day with a morning breakfast and then transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about mountain gorilla trekking. Later on, you will continue with a community visit to the Batwa villages. During the visit, you will engage in several activities like coffee roasting, cultural dances, and many others.

Chimpanzee trekking in Uganda is one of the best African safari activities you should not miss. You will meet many baboons along the way. Upon meeting a chimpanzee family, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence. Take as many pictures as you wish but comply with the chimpanzee trekking rules and regulations. Day 5: Lowland gorilla trekking and visit the waterfalls  

On day 5 of the 20 days of Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo safaris, you will start with the morning breakfast and then you will proceed with the transfer to the Kahuzi Biega National Park. The transfer will take about 45 minutes and upon arrival, you will start with the briefing about the lowland gorilla trekking. The activity will last for about 2 to 7 hours of the day upon where you will meet the gorillas. Then you have one hour to view the gorillas in their natural habitat.  Have lunch and then visit the waterfalls. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge in Bukavu.

Day 6: Transfer to Rubavu on Lake Kivu

While in Bukavu, you will start the day with breakfast and then you will transfer to Rubavu. As you arrive back in Rwanda via the Cyangungu border, you will start with the check in the migration offices. Then you will take about 4 to 5 hours to reach Rubavu on Lake Kivu. You will arrive at lunchtime and then you will be left to enjoy the beach life on Lake Kivu.

Day 7: Morning boat cruise and transfer to Volcanoes National Park (Bat Caves Tour)

You will start over with a morning breakfast and then go ahead with the transfer to the Volcanoes National Park. The transfer will take about 2 hours of the day. As you arrive in the park you will be left to rest and then in the afternoon, you will start over with the visit to the gorilla guardian village. The visit to this community will engage you in the culture of Rwanda. You will encounter the former poachers of the park. While in the village, travelers will engage in cultural dances, local cuisine preparation, storytelling, and many others.

Day 8: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Golden monkey trekking in the park will start with a briefing about the activity. It will take you to the forests of the volcanoes in search of these primates. The activity will last for about 2 to 5 hours of the day. Later on, you will go ahead with the transfer to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park through the Cyanika border in Kisoro. As you arrive at the border, you will check into the migration office. You will proceed with the transfer to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Day 9: Hiking Mountain Sabyinyo and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You wake up early in the morning and go ahead with the transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park headquarters to check in for the hiking of the Mountain Sabyinyo. You will start the hike and you will be accompanied by the ranger guide. The hike to this volcano is so challenging and it requires one to be fit enough. Then after the hike which will take about 8 hours of the day, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 10: Gorilla trekking and Batwa Community Tour

While in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will be transferred to the park headquarters after your breakfast. As you arrive in the park, you will start with the briefing about the gorilla trekking and then you will go ahead with the gorilla trekking. The activity will last about 2 to 7 hours of the day.  Later on, you will visit the Batwa community for the Batwa cultural experience. While in the community, you will start with the cultural dances, storytelling, and many others.

Day 11: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park (En-route game drive in Ishasha)

After your early morning breakfast, you will start over with the transfer to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. The transfer will take about 2 hours of the day to reach the park. You will arrive in the southern sector of the park and you will start over with the game drive various wildlife like the tree-climbing lions will be seen and other wildlife like leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and many others. Then you will proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: chimpanzee trekking and boat cruise in the Kazinga Channel

Today, you will start over with the transfer to the Kyambura Gorge for the chimpanzee trekking. The activity will last for about 3 to 5 hours upon where you meet the chimpanzee. You will be transferred to the Kazinga channel for a boat cruise in the afternoon. During the boat cruise at the Kazinga Channel, you will see different wildlife at the banks of the lake like hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and many others.

Day 13: Game drive and transfer to the Kibale National Park

While in the Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will start over with the game drive in the Kasenyi plains, the northern part of the park. During the game drive, you will see wildlife like warthogs, kobs, hippos, elephants, lions, leopards, and many others. Later on, you will transfer to the Kibale National Park, which will take about 2 hours of travel to reach the park. As you arrive, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Chimpanzee habituation in Kibale National Park

You will be transferred to the park headquarters for the briefing about the chimpanzee habituation. In this activity, you spend more time with the chimpanzee. You will spend the whole day in the jungle in search of the chimpanzee.

Day 15: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi wetland tour

While in the Kibale National Park, you will start over with the transfer back to the park headquarters for the briefing about the chimpanzee trekking. The duration for the activity is about 2 to 7 hours of the day upon where you will meet the chimpanzee. Later on, you will proceed with the Bigodi wetland tour and you will encounter different wildlife like birds and small primates. Then you will continue with the community tour where you will engage in coffee roasting banana brewing and many other activities.

Day 16: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

On day 16 of the 20 Days Rwanda Congo and Uganda Safari, you will start with the morning breakfast and then go ahead with the transfer to the Lake Mburo National Park. During the transfer, you will make a stopover at the Igongo Cultural Centre where you will have your lunch. After your lunch, you will engage in the community tour around the center and learn more about the Ankole culture. Then you will hike to the eclipse monument. Then you will go ahead with the transfer to the Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 17: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

While in the park, you will start over with the morning game drive and a variety of wildlife will be seen like leopards, buffaloes, impalas, zebras, and many others. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the lake Mburo. You will see several wildlife like crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, and many others.

Day 18: Nature walk and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

On day 18, you will start over with the morning nature walk around the park and during this walk, you will see several wildlife like zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, and many more. Then you will go ahead with the transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. The transfer will take about 3 to 5 hours of the day to reach the lake.

Day 19: Explore Lake Bunyonyi

You will have a full-day adventure around Lake Bunyonyi where you will start with the morning breakfast and then continue to the lake for a boat cruise where you will list out the different islands and their history. In the afternoon, you will go cycling around the lake, and during the cycling, you will make a stopover to see the different side views of the lake.

Day 20: Transfer to Kigali – Departure

After your early breakfast at Lake Bunyonyi, you will be transferred to the Katuna border of Rwanda and Uganda. During the transfer, you will check into the migration offices to check into the country. As you arrive in Kigali city you will choose to be transferred to the airport or the hotel of your choice. This will mark the end of your amazing 20 days Rwanda, Congo, and Uganda Safari.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to the Lake Nakuru National Park

Upon meeting your guide in Nairobi, you will be briefed about the 12 days of the Kenya and Tanzania wildlife safari. Then, you will embark on the transfer to the Lake Nakuru National Park. The transfer will take about 3 hours to reach the park headquarters. You will arrive at lunchtime. After lunch, you will be left to relax for the rest of the evening. You will visit the Baboon Cliff for the sunset views and then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full day in the Lake Nakuru National Park

During day 2 of the 12 days of the Kenya and Tanzania wildlife safari, you will start the day with a full-day adventure in the Lake Nakuru National Park. While on your full-day adventure which will involve the game viewing of the wildlife in the park, you will be able to see some of the big five animals like lions and rhinos among others. Later on, you will visit the lion hill where you will see different prides of the lions in the park.  Then you will proceed back to the lodge for the relaxation and lunch. After your lake, you will visit the lake Nakuru to see some bird species like the lesser flamingoes. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to the Amboseli National Park

After your morning breakfast, you will head into the park again for the game for another game drive as you transfer to the Amboseli National Park. During the transfer to the Amboseli National Park, you will make a stopover for your en-route lunch. The transfer will take about 6 to 8 hours of travel. Once you arrive in the park, you will check in to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 4: Full day in the Amboseli National Park

You will start the day with an early morning breakfast, after which you will drive into the park for the morning game drive. During the game drive you will be able to encounter different wildlife like lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, impalas, and many others. You will return to the lodge for the relaxation and lunch. In the evening, you will return to the park for the night game drive to encounter nocturnal animals like porcupines, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and many others.

Day 5: Transfer to the Masai Mara National Reserve

During day 5 of the 12 days of Kenya and Tanzania wildlife safari, you will start the day with every morning breakfast. Then after, you will start with the transfer to the Masai Mara National Reserve. During the transfer, you will make a stopover for your en-route lunch. Upon arrival in the park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Full day in Masai Mara National Reserve

You start the day with an early morning breakfast. Then you will proceed with the early morning game drive within the Masai Mara National Reserve. You will have a close encounter with the wildlife within the park like the lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and many others. Later in the afternoon, you will proceed with the visit to the Masai community. During the visit to the Masai community, you will interact with the Masai. In the interaction, you will be able to know about their way of living. Later in the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to the Serengeti national park

On day 7 of the 12 days of Kenya and Tanzania wildlife safari, you will be transferred to the Isibania border. Upon arrival at the border, you will clear with the immigration office for clearance into Tanzania.  You will proceed with the transfer to the Serengeti National Park.  Once you arrive in the park, you will check into the lodge and overnight.

Day 8: Full day in the Serengeti national park

In the morning, you will go into the park for the game viewing. During the game viewing in the park, you will be able to see different wildlife like the big five animals, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, impalas, and many others. Later in the afternoon, you will be transferred from the northern sector of the park to the southern sector for the evening game drive. You will later check in to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area

 In the morning, you will start with the early morning game drive within the southern sector of the park. Then you will later head back to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, you will start the transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival in the park, you have lunch. After your lunch, you will be left to relax for the afternoon.

Day 10: Full day in Ngorongoro Conservation Area

You will embark on a full-day adventure in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. During the full-day adventure, you will start with the early morning hot air balloon. During the hot air balloon safari, you will have the most impressive view of the Ngorongoro Crater. More so, you will see different wildlife like elephants and buffaloes. Later in the afternoon, you will proceed to the park again for the afternoon game drive to see different wildlife. In the evening, you will have a relaxation at the cliff of the crater as you enjoy the sunset.

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park

On the second last day, you will start over with the early morning game drive into the crater. Then later, you will return to the hotel for breakfast. After your breakfast, you will go ahead with the transfer to the Lake Manyara National Park. Once you arrive at the park, you will have lunch and relax. In the evening, you will visit Lake Manyara to see different aquatic birds like the lesser flamingoes which are pink in color, and many others. You will also enjoy the sunset while on the lake.

Day 12: Morning game drive and transfer to Arusha

On your last day of the 12 days of Kenya and Tanzania wildlife safari, you will start with a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. You will see different wildlife like lions, leopards, elephants, crocodiles, and hippos among others. You will return to the lodge for the relaxation and refreshment. After having your lunch, you will go ahead with the transfer to Arusha. While in Arusha, you will be either transferred to the airport for outbound flights. Alternatively, you may be dropped at a  hotel of your choice. This will mark the end of your safari.
