Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival, Kigali city tour, and transfer to the Volcanoes National Park.

On your arrival in Kigali, you will go on a city tour around Kigali. You will visit museums, genocide memorial sites, and many others. Later on, you will be able to go ahead with lunch. After lunch, you will transfer to the Volcanoes National Park for the evening and overnight of day one of the 14 days of Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya safari.

Day 2: Golden monkey trekking and Dian Fossey grave tour

After your early morning breakfast on day 2 of the 14 days Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya safari, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing on the golden monkey trekking. Later on, you will proceed with the golden monkey trek. The activity will last 2 to 5 hours, after which you will proceed with the visit to Dian Fossey’s grave. Dian Fossey was an American primatologist who helped to increase the number of mountain gorillas in the world, and she was murdered in 1985. Return to your lodge for dinner and spend the night there.

 Day 3: Ibyi’wacu cultural village and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After your breakfast in the morning, you will proceed with the visit to the Ibyi’wacu cultural village. The place offers an amazing cultural experience of the former poachers. The town is considered to be the guardian village of the gorillas.

Later, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for an amazing gorilla trekking experience. You will check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight on arrival.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking and Batwa community tour

On this day, you will proceed with gorilla trekking within the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. When you arrive at the park headquarters, you will go ahead with a briefing about gorilla trekking. An experienced guide during the gorilla trek will lead you. The activity will last for 2 to 8 hours a day.  Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you will visit the neighboring Batwa communities for an amazing cultural tour. The Batwa people are believed to be ancient dwellers of the land. Later, you will return to the lodge for an overnight stay and dinner.

Day 5: Explore Lake Bunyonyi

After your early morning breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. On arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel for lunch and later for a canoe ride on the lake. Lake Bunyonyi is Uganda’s deepest lake and is home to multiple bird species. You will also see different islands and learn about their history.  Later in the evening, you will be transferred back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha sector

You will be transferred from Lake Bunyonyi to the Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha sector. This park’s southern sector is known for being home to tree-climbing lions. On arrival in this sector, you will have a game drive where you will see different wildlife like tree-climbing lions, Topis, buffaloes, and many others. Continue to the lodge for dinner, relaxation, and overnight.

Day 7: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

After your early morning breakfast, you will go to the Kasenyi plains for the morning game drive. During this game drive, you will spot wildlife like elephants, leopards, lions, and Kobs.  Then you will transfer back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch.

You will be transferred to the Kazinga channel for a fantastic boat cruise in the afternoon. During the boat cruise, you will spot wildlife like crocodiles and elephants, monitor lizards, and many others. Later, you will be transferred to Fort Portal overnight.

Day 8: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi community tour

You will go to Kibale National Park to trek chimpanzees on this day. On arrival, you will go for a briefing on how chimpanzee trekking is done. Later, you will go ahead with the trek. The activity will last for 2 to 6 hours, including the one hour spent in the presence of chimps upon meeting them.

After chimpanzee tracking, you will visit the Bigodi community. During this tour, you will see the Bigodi swamp, coffee, and banana community. Later, you will be transferred back to the lodge for dinner, relaxation, and overnight.

Day 9: Transfer to Kampala

After your breakfast, you will be transferred back to Kampala. On arrival in Kampala, you will be transferred to Entebbe, where you will spend the night as you prepare for the flight to Kenya.

Day 10: Flight to Masai Mara National Reserve (Kenya)

You can fly to Kenya in the Masai Mara National Park after breakfast.  On arrival at the airstrip, you will be transferred to the lodge or tented camp for relaxation, lunch, and overnight.

Days 11 & 12: Full-day adventures in Masai Mara National Reserve

You start with a morning game drive on this adventure day in Masai Mara National Park.  During the game drive, you can explore the park‘s wildlife like the big five animals, impalas, and many others. Later on, you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you will take a hot air balloon adventure to see an aerial view of the park. If not, you can continue with a game drive and explore the extensive plains at length. The great wildebeest migration experience is the highlight of the 14-day Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya safari. Please go ahead and return to your lodge for dinner and spend the night there. 

You will spend the second day exploring this park at length.

Day 13: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park and evening game drive

You will leave the Masai Mara National Reserve for Lake Nakuru National Park today. The park is a beautiful wildlife haven on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. On arrival, you will proceed with an evening game drive, where you will see the lions, white and black rhinos, leopards, and many others during this game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park is a reliable birding destination. It is home to multiple bird species, dominated by the pink flamingos. In the evening, you will have dinner and spend the night at your lodge.

Day 14: Transfer back to Nairobi – Departure.

On the last day of the 14 days Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya safari, you will transfer to Nairobi with an en-route game drive to the shore of Lake Nakuru. This will enable you to see many flamingos and have the best lake views. Later, you will be transferred to Nairobi to the hotel of your choice or dropped at the airport for an outbound flight. This will mark the end of your spectacular 14 days Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya safari.
