Details of the 2-Week Uganda Tour

Day 1: Arrival and pickup from Entebbe International Airport

Upon your arrival, our representative will pick you up, who will be your guide/driver for the entire 14 Days Uganda Gorilla Tour. Your guide will take you through a briefing of this Tour. After the briefing, you will drive to the hotel where you will spend an overnight as you prepare to start your ultimate 14 day Uganda Gorilla Tour.

Day 2: Full-day Kampala City Tour

Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel and embark on a Full-day city tour in Uganda’s capital, Kampala, with bustling economic markets, storied buildings, and a mix of local people with different cultures and historic monuments. You will visit the Uganda National Mosque, which is one of the biggest mosques in East Africa and not just a worship place, but also offers a stunning view of Kampala. Later, you will visit several places such as Kasubi Tombs, the Uganda Museum, and craft shops. The Kampala city tour introduces you to get to know more about the country you are exploring. Return to the hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening.

Day 3: Transfer to Jinja and White-water rafting

Rise early in the morning and drive to Jinja via Mabira Forest to Jinja, which is a popular destination known as the home of the source of the Nile. Jinja is one of Uganda’s fastest-growing towns in the eastern part of Uganda, offering a range of adrenaline activities. Upon arrival, a guide will brief you on whitewater rafting, which involves 5 grades of experience.

Later, embark on a white-water rafting experience which offers an awe-inspiring moment on the rapids and speeding waters of the Nile. Later, you will have an afternoon boat trip to the source of the world’s longest River, the Nile. Return to Kampala at your hotel and enjoy a peaceful overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Enjoy a heavy breakfast and later embark on a scenic drive out of Kampala to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary through the beautiful countryside with lush green vegetation. Arrive at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, have a briefing about the Rhino tracking experience, and embark on a guided walk with a park ranger in search of the Rhinos. You will spend 1 hour with the Rhinos and later proceed on your journey to Murchison Falls National Park.

Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest and oldest National Park in the northwestern part of the country and is a popular tourism destination renowned for the world’s most powerful waterfall, Murchison Falls, and a diverse array of wildlife including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and other animal species that offer unforgettable adventure. Arrive at the lodge and check in for your dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise

Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the lodge and then embark on a morning game drive in the northern part of the park, which is rich in a variety of wildlife species, such as lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and different bird species. The morning game drive will take about three hours, and you will later return to the lodge for your refreshing lunch.

After Lunch, you will proceed on a thrilling afternoon boat trip to the bottom of Murchison Falls. You will spot schools of hippos, elephants, and crocodiles. Witness the beauty of Murchison Falls as huge amounts of water squeeze through a narrow gorge and pour down a 43-meter drop, thus forming Murchison Falls and the ever-present rainbow. Later, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive and Visit the Top of Murchison Falls

After a relaxed breakfast at the lodge, drive for a morning drive around the park to catch up on some of the missed sightings, such as leopards and lions, as well as different bird species, such as the Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Gray-headed Bush-shrike, Violet-backed Starling, White-crowned Lapwing, Black-winged Stilt, Senegal Thick-knee, African White-fronted Bee-eater, Gray Woodpecker, Black-and-white Shrike-flycatcher, Red-headed Weaver, Baglafecht Weaver, Black-headed Gonolek.

Have your lunch and drive to the top of Murchison Falls, where you will spend a relaxed afternoon with breathtaking views of the Murchison Falls and the splashing showers of the falls. Descend to the lodge where you will spend a relaxed evening and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge and embark on a scenic drive out of Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale National Park, with a scenic stopover offering stunning views of Bulisa, and later proceed to Kibale National Park in the western part of Uganda. The drive shall take you about 5 hours. Arrive at the park and check into your accommodation. Kibale National Park is a renowned Chimpanzee Trekking destination, harboring over 1500 chimpanzee individuals, giving a chance to get up close with the chimpanzees in their natural setting. Arrive at the park and check into your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Chimpanzee Trekking and Community Walk

Rise early with a hearty breakfast and embark on a thrilling chimpanzee trekking experience that takes you through the thick forests of Kibale, starting with a briefing at the park headquarters. Once you meet the chimpanzees, you may spend 1 hour with them and later descend to the starting point with a chimpanzee Trekking permit.

Enjoy a refreshing lunch and proceed for an evening community walk, taking you through the local communities, giving you a chance to explore and experience their lifestyle. You will take part in traditional dances, supporting local businesses and visiting craft shops.

Day 9: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Evening Game Drive

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the lodge and later embark on a scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of Uganda’s most visited national parks because of its dramatic landscapes that are home to a diverse array of wildlife and over 600 bird species, as well as tree-climbing lions that make it a medley of wonders. Arrive at the park, check into your lodge and enjoy a relaxing lunch.

After lunch, you will proceed to an evening game drive that will introduce you to the ecosystems of the park and marking where to begin your game drives and catch up some nocturnal animals since animals are more active at this time and predators are hunting down a meal. Return to the lodge and enjoy a relaxed dinner and a peaceful overnight.

Day 10: Morning Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

After your breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive to the northern part of the park, which is popular for game drive safaris. You will spot a variety of wildlife species, including different bird species such as the Gray-headed Bush-shrike, Violet-backed Starling, White-crowned Lapwing, Black-winged Stilt, Senegal Thick-knee, African White-fronted Bee-eater, Gray Woodpecker, Black-and-white Shrike-flycatcher, Red-headed Weaver, Baglafecht Weaver, and Black-headed Gonolek.

Arrive at the lodge and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking experience.

Day 12: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Experience

Rise early in the morning with a hearty breakfast and later gather at the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking. Uganda Wildlife Authority park rangers, who include the rules and regulations to follow during the observation of the gorillas, do this. Later, embark on a thrilling trekking experience which may be challenging but yet rewarding. You may spend 1 hour with the gorillas and later return to the starting point.

After lunch, embark on a Batwa community tour, taking you through the traditional inhabitants of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, who lived as hunters and food gatherers. These offer a deeper understanding of the way of life of these people and their deep connection with the forest. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and Relaxation

After breakfast, drive to Africa’s third deepest lake in southwestern Uganda. This lake contains over 29 islands with a rich cultural history, including Punishment Island, where people dumped pregnant girls to starve. Lush greenery surrounds the lake and comprises fresh water, which is bilharzia-free for swimming.
