Below is a detailed 3 Days Congo Gorilla Tour from Kigali safari itinerary
Day 1. Head to Virunga National Park
Begin the tour by picking up from Kigali, Rwanda, and enjoy the beautiful scenery covered with different hills. The driver guide will be glad and most excited to start the tour and to meet you. You will cross through the Goma border to the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the guide driver will help you acquire some immigration documents if you don’t have any. Head to Virunga National Park, home of the endangered mountain gorillas, and active Volcanoes called Mt Nyiragongo and Nyamuragira. Arrive in the evening and check in at the accommodation facility for your dinner.
Day 2. Gorilla trekking adventure and leisure
I wake up for breakfast and then go for a short drive to the park office for a briefing. Please tell me what to dress in, the rules and regulations to follow while in the forest, and the requirements you need to have, like a camera, enough drinking water, binoculars, garden gloves, and much more. You can begin the experience under the guidance of the park ranger guide, as the porters will be behind your back carrying extra luggage. On meeting a gorilla family, you will spend an hour learning about their different behaviors while taking memorable photos. The experience can last between 2 and 8 hours, and the location of the endangered mountain gorillas determines this. Later on, return to the lodge and have a leisurely evening with a hot lunch.
Day3. Head back to Kigali and take a city tour
After a leisurely breakfast, leave Virunga National Park in the morning. Transfer to Kigali and have a short city tour, depending on your flight time. While in Kigali, visit places like the genocide memorial centre, art and gallery centre, local markets like Kimironko market, the museum, milk bars, and many more. This marks the end of your three-day Congo Gorilla Tour from Kigali.
