The Safari begins and ends in Kigali International Airport or your drop-off destination. The 3-day Rwanda Gorilla and Golden Monkey Trekking Safari takes you to Rwanda’s jew of adventures, Volcanoes National Park. This park is located in the northern part of Rwanda.
Volcanoes National Park is Rwanda’s home of mountain gorillas and the golden monkey, including other wildlife species. The park is largely famous for gorilla trekking, which offers an opportunity to encounter the mountain gorillas in their natural habitats. While on this 3-day Trekking Safari, you will have a chance to encounter both the mountain gorillas as well as the golden monkeys. Golden monkeys are a rare species of monkeys characterized by golden fur around their neck and a playful character. Details of the 3-Day Rwanda Gorilla and Golden Monkey Trekking Safari
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On this day, you will be picked up by our company representative. The Travel expert will be your guide for the next three days. Your guide will take you through a briefing regarding gorilla trekking and the destination, you may ask Questions about the tour (if any). Later, you shall start your safari with a scenic journey taking you for about 2 hours to Volcanoes National Park. Once you arrive at the hotel, you will be warmly welcomed by the hotel staff, where you will spend the next 2 nights. Enjoy your lunch and later spend a relaxed evening at the lodge. In the evening, your guide will take you through a pre-briefing regarding what to carry for gorilla trekking, what to expect and what to wear. Enjoy a relaxed dinner and a peaceful overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Golden Monkey Trekking
The long-awaited day finally comes, you will rise with a hearty breakfast at the lodge and later proceed to the visitor’s information center. Upon there, you will have a briefing from the park rangers about the gorilla trekking experience. You will be divided into groups of 8 pax and accompanied by 2 park rangers. Start your trekking experience while you navigate through the dense forests in search of the gorillas. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend 1 hour with them as you learn more about their behaviours, as well as collecting photo moments with them. Return to the starting point for your lunch and relaxation.
After lunch, you will proceed for an afternoon Golden Monkey trekking experience. Unlike the gorilla trekking experience, the golden monkey trekking offers a moderately easy experience, taking about 3 to 4 hours. You shall be accompanied by the park rangers, who will help you in search of the golden monkeys. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend 1 hour with them and later return to the lodge for your dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Return to Kigali International Airport and Departure
Enjoy a relaxed dinner and peaceful morning at the lodge, prepare your belongings and embark on a scenic drive to Kigali International Airport. The journey shall take you about 2 hours, arrive at the Airport and check in for your departure as you conclude your 3-day Rwanda Gorilla and Golden Monkey Trekking Safari.
