5 Days Kidepo Valley National Park And Sipi Falls Tour

Welcome to the 5 Days Kidepo Valley National Park and Sipi Falls Tour. Kidepo Valley National Park is Uganda’s 3rd largest National Park in the country’s northeastern part. It’s one of the most visited national parks in the country because of its virgin and unique wildlife, birds, culture, and beautiful terrain. This Park harbors over 76 mammals and 420 bird species, making the park a famed tourist center. Kidepo covers an area of 1,427 km2, giving a big room for animal prosperity and multiplication, for example, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, lions, oribis, cheetahs, and leopards, and a sanctuary for a vast number of bird species.

The trip will also include a visit to the enchanting Sipi Falls. These falls have a captivating history, and the stories behind them will enthrall you. You will also have the opportunity to witness the expansive coffee plantations of Kapchorwa and partake in the coffee-making process. The journey from Kidepo National Park to Kampala may be long, but the fascinating stopovers along the way will make the trip an enjoyable and relaxing experience.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Sipi Falls and Pian-Upe Game Reserve

Our professional guide driver will pick you up from your hotel and brief you about the journey. Set off from Kampala at around 8:00 a.m. and transfer to Sipi Falls. On your journey, you will drive through a thick forest of Mabira, where you will find locals roasting chicken. If you want, you can buy some because they are so delicious.

Continue through the sugarcane plantations adjacent to vast tea plantations, which are all green, creating a perfect landscape for photography and sightseeing. Continue getting lost in the green vegetation, and you will rediscover yourself at Sipi Falls. Enjoy the magical views, take pictures, listen to indigenous stories attached to these waterfalls, and then check in at a lodge for lunch. After a short relaxation, continue on the drive, and your next destination will be Pian-Upe Wildlife Reserve. You will check in at the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Wake up at 6:30 am, have breakfast, and go for a game drive. You will see a variety of wildlife in the Pian-Upe game reserve. This is the second largest protected area in Uganda, covering an area of 2,275 km2, thus making it ideal for wildlife to flourish and enabling a unique and breathtaking game drive experience. You can meet animals like cheetahs, leopards, lions, buffalo, antelopes, hyenas, ostriches, gazelles, and various bird species. This exercise will take about 3-4 hours, and then you will return to your hotel, pack your luggage, and set off to Kidepo Valley National Park. You will go through the rugged ranges of Kotido and Kaabong, and then enter Kidepo National Park. Check in at the hotel for a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning game drive and Mount. Morungole hiking

Start your day with a wake-up call at 6:30 a.m., a hearty breakfast, and a briefing. Then, get ready for an exhilarating game drive. The sight of carnivorous animals enjoying their previous night’s hunt is fascinating. You might even witness these animals in action, such as cheetahs chasing gazelles or lions taking down a buffalo. Don’t miss seeing browsers like giraffes feeding on the canopies.

Head back to the hotel for relaxation and wait for lunch. After lunch at around 3:00 pm, you will go hiking on Morungole. This is another fascinating activity since it pulls guests out of their comfort zone and takes a hike with a local guide. Travelers can see the magnificent views of the park and different birds flying over, like the pygmy falcon, Egyptian vultures, and many others. The hike will take about 3 hours, and you will return to your lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Bird watching and cultural tour

Early in the morning, you will wake up for a delicious breakfast and go bird watching in the Narus valley, which harbors a recorded number of birds, over 470 species. Enjoy the sweet chirps of birds in the forests, as others make nests. Enjoy how the vultures fight with hyenas for food, some birds include: Abyssinian, pygmy falcon, black-breasted barbet, broad-tailed warbler, and many others. You will return to the hotel to relax and prepare for the cultural tour at 3:00 pm.

Later in the day, you will embark on a cultural tour, a unique opportunity to meet the Karamojong people, the most prominent tribe in North Eastern Uganda. This immersive experience will give you a glimpse into their daily lives, traditional dances, and culinary delights, providing a deep understanding of African cultures.

You will return to your hotel, spend the night, and prepare for the next day’s journey.

Day 5: Check out and transfer to Kampala

After a hearty breakfast, you will pack your luggage and begin the 8-hour journey back to Kampala. Along the way, you will have a picturesque stopover at Karuma Falls for some memorable photos. You will then continue to Kigumba for a satisfying lunch before you go ahead. This marks the end of the 5 Days Kidepo Valley National Park And Sipi Falls Tour.
