Ndere Cultural Centre

Ndere Cultural Centre is located in central Uganda – Ntinda near the roundabout of Kisasi. This is a diverse cultural site within the capital city of Kampala. Ndere Cultural Centre was established in 1986 by Stephen Ruwangyezi, a known storyteller and performer. The site became more established in 2003. Ndere is a local word meaning a musical instrument called “flute”. A flute is the major form of the musical instrument used for entertainment in many traditional communities of Uganda. The Ndere troupe was the first traditional music and dance group in Uganda. A flute is a common instrument that is used to produce smooth sounds. Spending time at Ndere Cultural Centre on a Uganda safari is worth it. You will get a chance to explore different traditional dance performances. How to get to the Ndere Cultural Centre?  

The Ndere Cultural Center is located in the heart of the city of Ntinda. It is mainly accessed by road and travelers from Entebbe usually access the area through the Entebbe Express which takes about 45 minutes to reach the cultural center. Travelers can consider the visit of the Ndere Cultural Center during the city tour or cultural tour to Uganda.
