Details of the 10-day Honeymoon and Gorilla Trekking Safari
Day 1: Arrival and pick up from the Airport
Meet and greet your safari guide for the next 10 days of your Uganda safari. Your guide will take you through a briefing of the 10-day Honeymoon and Gorilla Trekking Safari, including the accommodation centers to stay at, destinations to visit, and activities to do during the tour. Later, your guide shall drive you to the hotel where you will spend your night as you prepare for the next day’s journey.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park
Rise early with a mouth-watering breakfast, check out, and embark on a thrilling 5-hour drive to Kibale National Park in western Uganda, including a stopover in Fort Portal Tourism City. Kibale Forest National Park is renowned for housing over 1500 chimpanzee individuals, which makes it the primate capital of the world. Arrive at the park and proceed to your lodge for your next 2 nights. Check and enjoy a relaxed evening and dinner. After dinner, your guide will take you through a pre-briefing about chimpanzee trekking, including what to wear and pack. Enjoy a peaceful overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Community Experience
Start your day with a heavy breakfast and later head to the park headquarters for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking by the park rangers. After the briefing, you will be assigned chimpanzee families and accompanied by park rangers.
Begin the chimpanzee trekking experience while navigating through the tropical rainforest of Kibale in search of the chimpanzees as you encounter a variety of wildlife species. Once you find the chimpanzees, you will be granted 1 hour of experience as you watch the chimpanzees roam freely in their environment. After the experience, you will return to the starting point for your Chimpanzee Trekking Certificate. Head back to the lodge for your lunch. After lunch, you will embark on a thrilling Bigodi Community Experience, taking you through the traditional vibrant villages where you will have a chance to participate in traditional activities such as weaving, sewing, and traditional dances, thus giving you an insight into the traditional life of the local people.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Relaxation
Enjoy a restful breakfast at the lodge, check out, and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Uganda Equator in Kikorongo. Proceed to the park and check into your accommodation. Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most visited National Park, offering a perfect gateway for honeymooners on a Uganda safari. The park is popular for a diverse array of wildlife and stunning landscapes that feature lakes, rivers, and endless plains, thus a perfect romantic destination.
After your lunch, you shall spend a full day of relaxation at the lodge and a peaceful overnight.
Day 5: Full-day Game Drive Experience
Enjoy a restful breakfast at the lodge and later embark on a full day game drive in the northern part of the park. During the game drive, you will have a chance to spot a variety of animal species, including lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, crocodiles, hippos, and different bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness and later proceed with your game drive. After your game drive, you will return to the lodge for your dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Afternoon Boat Cruise and Evening sundowner
Enjoy a restful breakfast and peaceful morning at the lodge as you unwind from the safari. You shall enjoy a delicious meal and later proceed for an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel.
Boat cruises in Queen Elizabeth National Park are done on the stunning Kazinga channel, which connects Lake George to Lake Edward, where you will spot a variety of wildlife, including crocodiles, hippos, warthogs, buffalo, waterbucks, and different waterbird species. The boat cruise shall take you about three hours and later return to the lodge for a romantic sundowner and overnight.
Day 7: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Enjoy an early morning game drive to catch up on some of the animals missed during the safari. The morning game drive shall take you about 3 hours, return to the lodge for your breakfast and later embark on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park as you drive through the park. The journey takes about 4 hours to access the park and later check in for your accommodation.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for harboring over Half of the World’s Mountain gorillas, which makes it a prime gorilla trekking destination. Get ready to encounter the majestic mountain gorillas in their natural habitats, offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
In the evening, your guide will take you through a pre-briefing about gorilla trekking, including what to pack and wear. Enjoy a relaxed dinner and a peaceful overnight as you prepare for gorilla trekking.
Day 8: Gorilla Trekking Experience and Batwa Community Experience
After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the Visitor’s information center. Upon there, you will be warmly welcomed by the traditional local dance and given a briefing by the park rangers regarding the rules and guidelines to follow while observing the gorillas in their natural habitats. After the briefing, you will be assigned a specific gorilla family and 2 park rangers to provide safety and information during the observation with the gorillas. Once you find the gorillas, you will be granted 1 hour of encounter and later head back to the starting point for your lunch and gorilla trekking certificate. After lunch, you will embark on an evening Batwa Experience that will offer a deeper insight into their traditional way of life. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, Experience and Relaxation
Enjoy a restful breakfast at the lodge and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, which is the most sought-after destination after gorilla trekking in Bwindi. Upon there, you will transfer by boat to your next accommodation. Lake Bunyonyi offers a more romantic gateway after gorilla trekking, with peaceful relaxation and stunning views of the lake. Enjoy a full day of relaxation with your partner at the lodge in a more secluded hideout. Enjoy a delicious dinner and a peaceful overnight.
Day 10: Return to Entebbe International Airport and Departure
Enjoy an early morning breakfast at the lodge and check out. Be sure to pack all your belongings and later embark on a thrilling 7-hour drive to Entebbe International Airport with a stopover at the Uganda Equator for lunch, and later proceed to the Airport as you conclude your safari.
