Day 1: Pick Up and Transfer to Mgahinga National Park
You will be picked up by our representative, who will be your guide/driver for the 4 days of safari. Your guide will take you through a briefing of the 4-Day Gorilla and Golden Monkey Trekking Safari, including what to expect on this 4-day safari, including accommodation, destination, and activities to do on this tour. Later, you will embark on an approximately 4-hour drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Arrive at the lodge and check in for your dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Enjoy breakfast and later proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking. The briefing includes rules and guidelines to follow while observing the gorillas in their natural environment. After the briefing, begin the actual gorilla trekking experience as you navigate through the dense forests and bamboo canopies of Mgahinga in search of the gorillas. Once you find the gorillas, you will have a chance to spend 1 hour with the gorillas at a 10-meter distance. After 1 hour, you will return to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking certificates. Meet your guide and return to the lodge. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon at the lodge and a cool evening as you prepare for the next day’s golden monkey trekking experience.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking Experience
After a hearty breakfast, gather at the park headquarters for a briefing about the golden monkey. Golden Monkeys are critically endangered creatures found in a few places in the world, including Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo. Golden Monkeys are characterized by their Unique golden fur around their faces and playful behavior. After the briefing, you will embark on a trekking experience in search of the golden monkeys in their natural environment. Once you find the gorillas, you will have a chance to spend 1 hour of encounter with their company and later return to the starting point where you will meet your guide. You will receive a Golden Monkey Trekking Certificate from the Uganda Wildlife Authority. Return to the lodge for a relaxed evening as you unwind from the long day of adventure. Enjoy a delicious dinner and a peaceful overnight.
Day 4: Return to Kigali/Drop-off Destination
After a hearty breakfast at the lodge, check out and embark on a scenic drive out of Uganda and the rolling hills of Rwanda to Kigali. Arrive in Kigali at your drop-off destination as you conclude the 4-Day Gorilla and Golden Monkey Trekking Safari from Kigali.
