Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Optional Batwa Community Tour
This is the long-awaited day on your 4 Days Gorillas, Wildlife, and Kyambura Chimpanzee Trek. It starts with a hot breakfast at your accommodation. Later on, you walk or drive to the trekking point. Here, you will be briefed about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations. One gorilla family can be tracked by at most 8 people. You will be assigned a gorilla family, ranger-guide, and fellow trekkers. Real adventure begins as you walk into the impenetrable forest in search of the giant apes. Thanks to the knowledgeable ranger-guides who know the tracks. Finding gorillas will not be strenuous. Upon meeting the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence.
Later on, you will either eat your packed lunch or go back to the lodge for it. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. You may opt for the Batwa community tour. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
Day 3: Game Drive in the Ishasha Sector and Afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazing Channel
It is time to say goodbye to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After breakfast, you will hit the road to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will do an en route game drive in the Ishasha Sector. This region or sector is famous for being home to tree-climbing lions. If you are lucky, you may meet the lions hunting a buffalo or any other animal. Have a break for lunch in one of the towns before going for an afternoon boat cruise. The boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel has a lot to offer. Here, you have high chances of seeing elephants, hippos, eagles, crocodiles, and buffalo. Later on, drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kyambura Gorge & Transfer to Entebbe – Departure
After breakfast, you will go to Kyambura Gorge for chimp trekking. This is a valley of apes, as many call it. The gorge is one of the popular safari destinations in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is home to chimpanzees. Like gorilla trekking, chimp trekking is a group activity. You walk through the gorge looking for these apes. You will see hippos in the Kyambura River as well as many birds and primates. Once you meet the chimps, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them. Even good things come to an end! After the trek, you will hit the road to Kampala. Lunch will be along the way. The driver will drop you at a hotel of your choice in Kampala or Entebbe Airport. Catch your outbound flight. This marks the end of your 4 Days Gorillas, Wildlife, and Kyambura Chimpanzee Trek.
