Hotel Breakfast & Preparation 

Start early with breakfast at your hotel or a local café. Wear comfortable, breathable clothing suitable for warm daytime temperatures and cooler morning air. Bring sturdy walking shoes (you’ll do light trekking on nature trails), a wide-brimmed hat, high-SPF sunscreen, and sunglasses. Carry plenty of water the Kenyan sun is intense even at altitude. Have your phone charged, camera ready, and some cash for tips and snacks.

Transfer to Giraffe Centre (Langata). Depart your hotel for the Giraffe Centre, located approximately 20 km south of downtown Nairobi in the Langata area (25-40 minutes depending on traffic). The scenic drive passes through Nairobi’s suburban neighborhoods, offering glimpses of local life. The Giraffe Centre sits on 140 acres of acacia woodland, a peaceful sanctuary removed from urban bustle. Upon arrival, check in at the visitor center, pay your entry fee, and receive a brief orientation from staff. Giraffe Centre Experience – Hand-Feeding & Education

Return to the visitor center for refreshments. The on-site café serves light snacks, beverages (Kenyan coffee, fresh juices, bottled water), and simple lunch items. Browse the gift shop featuring giraffe-themed souvenirs, educational books, locally-crafted items, and conservation merchandise. Purchases support the centre’s work. Rest in shaded areas, hydrate well, and use restroom facilities.

Lunch: Enjoy lunch at the centre’s café or venture to nearby Langata restaurants. The café offers simple Kenyan and international options.
