3 Days Uganda Gorillas from Kigali
This 3 Days Uganda Gorillas From Kigali safari will start in Rwanda and involve gorilla trekking in Bwindi. It will then take you to the Ugandan Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, one of the two parks that protect the endangered mountain gorillas. Located in the far southern parts of Uganda, this area offers a variety of attractions, including gorillas, blue monkeys, and beautiful birds such as the green broadbill.
The main activity of the tour will be gorilla trekking, which will allow you to spend an hour with the remaining gentle giants. You will then spend the night at Lake Bunyonyi. You will cross to Bwindi, Uganda, from Kigali, Rwanda, via the Cyanika/Kyanika border post. There will be an optional tour of Kigali, such as visiting the genocide memorial centre and the local market. Below is the detailed 3-day Uganda Gorillas from Kigali safari itinerary.
Day1. Pick from Kigali and cross to Bwindi National Park
On your arrival at Kigali airport, one of our company drivers will welcome you from your journey, immediately take you through a short briefing about the tour, and then depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. Pass the border of Cyanika as you cross to Uganda and enjoy the beautiful scenes of Kabale, a hilly area well known for fertile soils and cereal growing. Upon arrival after a 4-hour journey, check in at one of the accommodation facilities near Bwindi NP, have lunch, and rest for the next day’s activity.
Day2. Gorilla trekking and relaxing at Lake Bunyonyi
Wild animals are always active in the morning. Hence, you will wake up very early in the morning to prepare yourself. Enjoy breakfast, then depart for the park’s ranger stations to check in and receive a briefing. Start trekking while in the park as soon as the briefing is done. Expect to see many attractive animals like the blue monkeys, elephants, and beautiful birds like the green broadbill.
Trekking will take almost 2-8 hours, and only one hour will be spent in the presence of the gorillas. Once the activity is done, head back to the park offices for check-out. On reaching the lodge, have your hot lunch and organize to go to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.
At Lake Bunyonyi, you will be treated to a serene and relaxing environment. Enjoy the scenic view of the lake as you sip on a refreshing fruit juice. Spend a peaceful night at the Bunyonyi Overland Resort, gathering around the fire as you bask in the tranquility of nature.
Day3. Drive back to Kigali and an optional city tour
On the final day of your tour, you will have the opportunity to learn about the rich history of Rwanda. After a leisurely breakfast, your driver guide will take you back to Kigali. You can cross at Katuna, the other border crossing from Uganda to Rwanda. Upon reaching Kigali, opt for an educational visit to the genocide memorial center. This optional activity will give you a deeper understanding of Rwanda’s past. After the city tour, your driver will escort you to the airport for your departure, marking the end of your 3 Days Uganda Gorilla trekking from Kigali safari.
