Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Upon arrival at the Entebbe International Airport or after breakfast at your lodge, you will meet our driver guide. He or she will brief you about the 6 days Murchison Falls and Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Safari. You will then embark on the drive to Murchison Falls National Park. You will make your first stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. This is a chance to learn about the conservation journey of rhinos in Uganda. These creatures were on the verge of extinction until the sanctuary was established. The second stop will be in Masindi town for lunch. Proceed to the park and check in to your lodge upon arrival. Have dinner and spend the night over.

Day 2: Morning game drive and Afternoon boat cruise on River Nile

After breakfast at your lodge, you will head for a morning game drive in the park. Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest and oldest national Park. It is home to 4 of the big five animals. These include; elephants, lions, leopards, and African cape buffalo. The park is also home to multiple bird species like the grey-crowned crested crane, African great kingfisher, African fishing eagle, and many more. The park will take you through the lush savannah vegetation. Return to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go for an amazing boat cruise on the Nile River. Here, you will see many water bird species on the river banks. The cruise will also introduce you to many hippos and crocodiles. Your boat excursion will take you to the bottom of Murchison Falls. From here, you will be led by a ranger guide on a hike to the top of the falls. Take your memorable picture of the world’s strongest waterfall and create an everlasting memory. Later on, meet your driver guide and embark on a drive to your accommodation facility for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will enjoy scenic views of the landscape and the magical Rwenzori Mountains. You will have an en-route lunch. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will go to Kyambura Gorge for a chimpanzee tracking tour. The safari starts with a briefing. Upon meeting the chimps, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence. You will proceed with an en-route lunch to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking and Batwa Community Tour

After breakfast, meet your driver guide and go to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will start on the search for gorilla trekking. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to 26 mountain gorilla families. Upon meeting your designated gorilla family, you will spend one hour in their presence. Take as many pictures as you wish. The park is also home to many primate species like the white colobus monkeys. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Batwa communities. The Batwa are some of the ancient dwellers of the African tropical rain forests. Take part in their day-to-day chores like making fire and traditional dances. Return to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over. Day 6: Transfer to Kampala – Departure

Start your day with your amazing breakfast. Check out of the lodge and drive to Kampala. You will make a stopover at the Uganda Equator for an amazing safari experience. Lunch will be along the way. The driver will drop you at the Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight. Alternatively, the driver may drop you at a hotel of your choice in Kampala.
