Welcome to the amazing 5 Days Kidepo Valley National Park And Sipi Falls Tour. Kidepo Valley National Park is the 3rd largest National Park in Uganda located in the North Eastern part of the country. It’s one of the most visited National parks in the country because of its virgin and unique wildlife, birds, culture, and its beautiful terrain. This Park harbors over 76 mammals and 420 bird species and this has made the park a famed tourist center. Kidepo covers an area of 1,427 km2 giving a big room for animal prosperity and multiplication, for example, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, lions, oribis, cheetahs, and leopards, and a sanctuary for a vast of bird species.

The trip will also include visiting the romantic waterfalls of Sipi, these have a fascinating history and you will enjoy the stories behind these waterfalls. You will also be able to see the vast coffee plantations of Kapchorwa and go through the process of making coffee. The journey from Kidepo National Park to Kampala is quite long but there are interesting stopovers that will thus make the journey enjoyable and relaxing.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Sipi Falls and Pian-Upe Game Reserve

You will be picked up from your hotel by our professional guide driver and he will brief you about the journey. Set off from Kampala at around 8:00 am and transfer to Sipi Falls, on your journey, you will drive through a thick forest of Mabira where you will find locals roasting chicken and if you want, you can buy some because they are so delicious.

Continue through the sugarcane plantations adjacent to vast tea plantations and they are all green creating a perfect landscape for photography and sight-seeing. Continue and get lost in the green vegetation and you will re-discover yourself while at Sipi Falls. Take in the magical views, enjoy pictures, listen to indigenous stories attached to these waterfalls, and then check in at a lodge for lunch. After a short relaxation, continue on the drive and your next destination will be Pian-Upe Wildlife Reserve. You will check in at the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Wake up as early as 6:30 am, have breakfast, and go for a game drive. You will see a variety of wildlife in the Pian-Upe game reserve. This is the second largest protected area in Uganda, covering an area of 2,275km2 thus making it ideal for wildlife to flourish and enabling game drive experience one of a kind and breathtaking. You will be able to meet animals like cheetahs, leopards, lions, buffaloes, antelopes, hyenas, ostriches, gazelles, and a variety of bird species. This exercise will take about 3-4 hours and then you will go back to your hotel, pack your luggage, and set off to Kidepo Valley National Park. You will go through the ridged ranges of Kotido, and Kaabong and then enter Kidepo National Park. Check in at the hotel for a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning game drive and Mount. Morungole hiking

In the morning, you will wake up as early as 6:30 am, have breakfast, get briefed and then embark on a game drive, this is very fascinating especially when you see carnivorous animals enjoying the previous night’s hunt. You may as well spot these animals take down their prey for instance cheetahs chasing gazelles, and lions putting down a buffalo, enjoy browsers for example giraffes feeding on the canopies.

Head back to the hotel for relaxation and wait for lunch. After lunch at around 3:00pm, you will go hiking the mountain Morungole. This is also another fascinating activity since it pulls guests out of their comfort zone and take a hike with a local guide. Travelers are able to see the magnificent views of the park and different birds flying over like the pygmy falcon, Egyptian vultures, and many others. The hiking will take you about 3 hours and come back to your lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Bird watching and cultural tour

Early morning, you will wake up for delicious breakfast, and go bird watching in the Narus valley which harbors a recorded number of birds over 470 species. Enjoy the sweet chirps of birds in the forests, others making nests. Enjoy how the vultures fight with hyenas for food, some birds include; Abyssinian, pygmy falcon, black-breasted barbet, broad-tailed warbler, and many others. You will go back to the hotel for relaxation and get ready for the cultural tour in the evening at 3:00pm.

After, you will go for cultural tour where you will meet the Karamojong people – the biggest tribe in North eastern Uganda, on the periphery of park premises. Enjoy how they live, how they dance, their food and everything about them is so fascinating. This will enable you to deeply understand African cultures.

Go back to your hotel where you will have an overnight stay and get ready for the journey in the next day.

Day 5: Check out and transfer to Kampala

After morning breakfast, pack your luggage and embark on the long 8 hours’ journey to Kampala. You will have a stopover at Karuma falls for pictures, continue to Kigumba where you will have lunch and then proceed on your journey. This will mark the end of the 5 Days Kidepo Valley National Park And Sipi Falls Tour.
