11 Days Tanzania Great Migration Safari

The 11 days Tanzania Great Migration Safari will offer an incredible experience of the true African wildlife as well as the beach life of Zanzibar.  While on this safari, you will visit the Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and the Stone Town in Zanzibar. During the 11 days Tanzania Great Migration safari, you will encounter wildlife through the game drive and hot air balloon safari.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from the Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha

Upon arrival at the airport, you will meet the company guide who will welcome you. Then, he or she will transfer you to Arusha to your hotel for relaxation and dinner.

Day 2: Transfer to Tarangire National Park

After your early morning breakfast on day 2 of the 11 days Tanzania Great Migration safari, you will be transferred to the Tarangire National Park. The drive to the Tarangire National Park will take about 2 hours of the day. As you arrive in the park, you will be left to relax for the rest of the day. A guided nature is an option to occupy your afternoon.

Day 3: Full day in the Tarangire National Park

You will start the day with the morning breakfast. Then you will drive to the park for the morning game drive. This game drive will offer a close encounter with the wildlife in the park. You will spot wildlife like the large herds of elephants, vervet monkeys, pythons, lions, zebras, and many others. You will return to the lodge for the relaxation and lunch. After your lunch, you will drive back to the shores or banks of the Tarangire River to see more wildlife at the river taking water. The Tarangire River is the major water source within the Tarangire National Park.

Day 4: Transfer to the Serengeti National Park

On day 4 of the 11-day Tanzania Great Migration safari, you will go ahead with the transfer to the Serengeti National Park. The transfer to the Serengeti National Park will take about 4 hours of travel. Upon arrival in the park, you will check in to the lodge for relaxation. In the evening, you will go ahead with the evening game drive where you will encounter several wildlife including the great wildebeest migration experience.

Day 5: Full day in the Serengeti National Park

You will start over with the morning hot air balloon within the Serengeti National Park. During the hot air balloon safari, you will have the best aerial view of the park. You will also see different wildlife like elephants, rhinos, zebras, giraffes, and many others. Later on, you will transfer to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. After your lunch, you drive into the park to see more wildlife and you will spend the rest of the day there. In the evening, you will have the opportunity to see the sunset while in the park.

Day 6: Transfer to the northern sector of the Serengeti National Park

After your breakfast, you will start over with the game drive transfer to the northern sector of the park. The major aim is the great migration of the wildebeests and other wildlife. While in the northern sector, you will see the great migration of wildlife like wildebeests, zebras, kobs, and many others.

Day 7: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

The day will start with the transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will descend from the Serengeti National Park into the dominant volcano Ngorongoro. You will be able to see other volcanic features. During the safari in the Ngorongoro conservation Area, you will see the big five on the lucky day.

Day 8: Full day in Ngorongoro Conservation Area

You will start the day with the morning hot air balloon. During the hot air balloon safari, you will have the best aerial views of the Ngorongoro crater. You will also see wildlife like elephants, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, and many others. Later you will be transferred to the Olduvai Gorge Museum to learn about human evolution. During the visit to the museum, you will be able to see the skull of the early man and the equipment that was used by the early man like spears, bows, and arrows among others.

Day 9: Transfer back to Arusha

You start the day with an early morning breakfast. Then you will be transferred to Arusha for a flight to Zanzibar. On arrival in Zanzibar, you will check in to your lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 10: Visit Stone Town in Zanzibar

After your breakfast, you will be transferred to Stone Town of Zanzibar which is the oldest and the main city of Zanzibar.  While in the stone town, you will engage in the local markets to buy the locally manufactured materials of the natives of Zanzibar. Later in the afternoon, you will head to the beach for the afternoon relaxation.

Day 11:  Transfer to the Airport – Departure

Wake up to a leisurely breakfast at your hotel in Zanzibar. The glamor of the sunrise at a beach is something you need not to miss. Later on, you will check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport. Bid farewell to our team and catch your outbound flight. This will mark the end of your special 11 days Tanzania Great Migration Safari.
